From the original ten-hectare cru in the convex part of the vineyard (which was extended in 1971 to include the concave part), the 2017 Bockstein GG opens with fascinating floral Gewurztraminer notes intertwined with fine crunchy and flinty slate aromas. Lush and piquant on the palate, this is a highly refined, elegant and stimulatingly refreshing Riesling with great definition and perfectly ripe, persistent fruit. This is the finest dry Bockstein I have ever tasted from Nik Weis. A fabulous wine! Tasted in April 2019. -Wine Advocate: 94
