The Malbecs from the Terroir Series were not produced in 2016, as the rains complicated things, so I tasted the 2017 Terroir Series Malbec Finca Coletto. It has an impressive nose of violets and ripe black cherries, and the palate is concentrated, deep and juicy, with moderate acidity and a soft and approachable texture. 2017 was a healthy, low-yielding and ripe year, and the wine reflects it. 20,000 bottles were filled in January 2019. These wines now mature 70% in barriques and 30% in oak foudres of different sizes, mainly 6,000-liter.

The energy and electricity in this is exciting. Full-bodied, yet tight and extremely vertical. It takes you deep down. Blueberry and stone character. Complex, but always focused. So right now, but better in two or three years. Try in 2022.
